How to Extract ISO Image and make bootable USB
Here are the steps to extract an ISO image from a CD or DVD using ImgBurn and then create a bootable USB using Rufus:
Three Main Things You Need

3 USB of more than 4 GB
Extract
ISO Image from CD or DVD using ImgBurn
- Download and Install ImgBurn:
- Download the software ImgBurn
- Install ImgBurn on your computer.
- Insert the CD/DVD:
- Insert the CD or DVD from which you want to create an
ISO image into your computer’s optical drive.
- Open ImgBurn:
- Launch ImgBurn.
- Select ‘Create image file from disc’:
- On the main screen, select the option “Create image
file from disc”.
- Choose the Source and Destination:
- In the “Source” section, select your CD/DVD drive.
- In the “Destination” section, choose where you want to
save the ISO file and give it a name.
- Start the Process:
- Click the “Read” button to start creating the ISO
image.
- Wait for the process to complete. The time taken will
depend on the size of the CD/DVD.
Make
Bootable USB using Rufus
- Download and Install Rufus:
- Download the software Rufus
- Install Rufus on your computer.
- Insert the USB Drive:
- Insert the USB drive you want to make bootable into
your computer.
- Open Rufus:
- Launch Rufus.
- Select the USB Drive:
- In the “Device” section, select your USB drive from
the dropdown menu.
- Select the ISO File:
- In the “Boot selection” section, click the “SELECT”
button and choose the ISO file you created with ImgBurn.
- Configure the Partition Scheme:
- Choose the partition scheme (usually MBR for BIOS or
UEFI-CSM, or GPT for UEFI).
- Start the Process:
- Click the “START” button to begin creating the
bootable USB.
- Confirm any prompts that appear and wait for the
process to complete.
And that’s it! You should now have a
bootable USB drive created from your CD/DVD ISO image.
